Accessories like gears can be seen on many devices, and don't underestimate these accessories, they are very useful. There are many gear processing methods, but generally two methods are more common. This article mainly introduces two methods of gear processing.
Processing method 1: It is the profiling method (also known as the forming method), which is cut tooth by tooth and is discontinuous, so the accuracy and efficiency are very low, and it is rarely used.
Processing method 2: It is the Fan Cheng method (also called the development method), which uses the meshing principle of a pair of gears to process gears. The processed gears have high precision and are very commonly used. However, there is an unavoidable problem in the commonly used Fan Cheng method for processing gears, that is, the undercut phenomenon refers to that when the number of teeth of the gear is less than 17, the root of the gear is partially cut by the gear cutter, and the smaller the number of teeth, the more serious the undercut phenomenon (this reduce the transmission capacity of the gear). Therefore, in order to avoid the occurrence of the undercut phenomenon of the machining gear, the number of teeth of the gear is generally selected as 17.
I believe everyone knows the two methods. Relatively speaking, the second method is used more, because the second method is better to use, but even if it is better, pay more attention when using it, and follow the correct method to operate.
